Dr Özge Tunçalp is a physician and epidemiologist currently based in Geneva working as a scientist in the Maternal and Perinatal Health & Preventing Unsafe Abortion team, of the UNDP/UNFPA/UNICEF/ WHO / World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction, Department of Reproductive Health and Research, World Health Organization, Geneva, Switzerland. 

Dr Tunçalp led the work on “WHO recommendations on antenatal care for positive pregnancy experience”, released in November 2016 and currently leads the research and evidence synthesis portfolio on antenatal care for the Department. Furthermore, she plays a key role in the WHO-initiated Global Network on Quality of Care leading the work on evidence synthesis for improving quality of care and managing the research portfolio on an experience of care including mistreatment of women and labour companionship
